LINCOLN MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY

A Playwright Workshop Intensive

Led by Lisa Soland

Starting June 13, 2020

(Sign up now for 2020!)

This weeklong playwright workshop, led by award-winning international playwright Lisa Soland, explores several dramatic formats: the monologue, 10-minute play, one-person autobiographical or biographical play, and the one-act and full-length play. Before the week concludes, Ms. Soland will also discuss the business of being a playwright: submission, production, self-production, social networking, and other elements regarding building a career as a dramatist. Classes will be held in the mornings, writing time in the afternoons, sharing time after dinner. Learn the craft of playwriting from an excellent practitioner, build a strong and supportive community of fellow playwrights, and go home prepared to take up your craft in earnest. The ten-minute plays developed during the workshop will be given a fully produced staged reading to an invited audience on the last evening.

All writing levels welcome. Must be 18 years of age or older.

Classes will take place in the LMU Convention Center, Cumberland Gap. Residential participants will stay in the lovely LMU residence halls.
